Ground Safety hosts holiday meet n’ greet

Col. Robert Weaver, 412th Maintenance Group commander, showed his holiday spirit with a festive hat while waving to people leaving base. Weaver joined 412th Test Wing Ground Safety and other commanders in handing out safety pamphlets and candy canes, wishing Team Edwards members a happy and safe holidays.

Base Leadership gathered with candy canes and safety pamphlets to wish people safe holidays Dec. 13, at each gate. The pamphlets encouraged everyone to be ready, responsible and respectful during the holiday season.

They also included tips for Christmas tree safety, such as keeping the tree well-watered and using cool-burning bulbs to decorate.

Col. Evan Dertien, Air Force Test Center vice commander, wished people leaving the West Gate happy holidays as they left Dec. 13.

“Safety is an important part of our holiday season,” said Christina D. Harp, 412th Test Wing, Occupational Safety and Health specialist.

“We at 412th TW Ground Safety want everyone to be vigilant over the holidays and make good choices during this, sometimes stressful, time of year. We like to invite all the commanders on base out to help us with our ‘Holiday Meet ‘n’ Greet’ at the gates to let everyone know we want them to have a good time but return back to work safe and injury free for the new year.”

Lt. Col. Devin Traynor, 411th Flight Test Squadron commander, handed out candy canes and safety pamphlets to encourage people to enjoy the holidays safely Dec. 13.
