Gaining Altitude – Growth Opportunities for the Week

Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community

- This Friday we celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. Although commercialism dominates the celebration, there is a historical background to the day that can benefit us. The holiday is named after Valentinus, a third century Roman who was imprisoned for performing “illegal” weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry, and for ministering to persecuted Christians. Despite Rome’s instance to cease his activities, his love for his fellow citizens motivated him to persevere, even to the point of death.

Through our prayers – an opportunity to pray for the needs of our community

- Ask God to show you how you can let the people in your life know how much you love and care about the sacrifices they make on your behalf.
