Victim Advocate of the Month

victim-advocate
Name: Katelin Sprague

Duty Title: Management assistant

Organization: AFTC XP

Years of Service: Civil Service employee for five years

Hometown: Air Force Brat. I’ve previously been stationed with my family at Nellis AFB, Nev., San Vito Air Station, Italy, Hill AFB, Utah, Kadena AB, Japan, and, finally, Edwards AFB where my father retired.

Why did you become a volunteer victim advocate: I volunteered to become a Victim Advocate because I had previously worked for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office, and I really became enveloped and moved by their mission. Since then, I have adopted it to become my own personal mission. Sexual assault is a traumatizing event and a crime against another person. There is nothing I want more than to be there to help in the recovery and to support a victim of sexual assault in any shape or form they may need.
