Women’s Heritage Month activities

Activities scheduled as part of the Womenís Heritage Month observance include:
March 19: Working Women Linked In Lunch: Brown bag networking lunch at Oasis Community Center. POC is Capt. Tiffany Smith (tiffany.smith.2@us.af.mil).

March 24: Women’s Heritage Month Luncheon at Club Murocc. Tickets will be available for purchase in March. POCs are Gay Bailey (gay.bailey@us.af.mil) and Monika Zuccaro (monika.zuccaro@us.af.mil).

Retirement luncheon

Team Edwards is cordially invited to attend a luncheon in honor of Lucila Castel who is retiring after more than 29 years of service. The event is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., March 28 at Club Muroc. Tickets are on sale now. Cost is $12.50 for club members, $14.50 for non-members (must present club card at time of purchase). The menu choices are vegetable lasagna or grilled chicken. To buy tickets, contact Kathey Trowbridge at (661) 277-0105 or Torri McKay at (661) 277-2006. Deadline for ticket purchase is March 20.

WWII liberator search

On May 24, Temple Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, Calif., will host a special event to honor World War II concentration camp liberators and others who performed extraordinary feats in the line of duty. The California Department of Veterans Affairs is working to help find these individuals. †If you or someone you know was involved in liberating Holocaust survivors, contact Harvey Keenan at harveykeenen1@gmail.com.

Running with History

“Running with History,” Edwards AFB’s half marathon, 10K and 5K will take place May 17.†Cost is†$50 for the half; $35 for the 10K; and $25 for the 5K. All runs will take place on the historic Edwards AFB Lakebed and flight line.
