Women’s History Month luncheon

This year’s Women’s History Month Luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., March 24 at Club Muroc. The guest speaker will be Chief Master Sgt. Lisa Richards, 412th Medical Group superintendent. Tickets are $11.70 for club members, $13.70 for non-members.

Retirement

Edward J. Sabo Jr., 412th Maintenance Group, is retiring after 39 years of faithful and honorable service. Team Edwards is invited to stop by the 412th Maintenance Operations Center in Bldg. 1600 at 2 p.m., March 28 for his retirement cake and to thank him for his 39 years of exceptional service to our country and to wish him well in his next endeavor.

Team Edwards is cordially invited to attend a luncheon in honor of Lucila Castel who is retiring after more than 29 years of service. The event is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., March 28 at Club Muroc. Tickets are on sale now. Cost is $12.50 for club members, $14.50 for non-members (must present club card at time of purchase). The menu choices are vegetable lasagna or grilled chicken. WWII liberator search

On May 24, Temple Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, Calif., will host a special event to honor World War II concentration camp liberators and others who performed extraordinary feats in the line of duty. The California Department of Veterans Affairs is working to help find these individuals.  If you or someone you know was involved in liberating Holocaust survivors, contact Harvey Keenan at harveykeenen1@gmail.com.

Running with History

“Running with History,” Edwards AFB’s half marathon, 10K and 5K will take place May 17. Cost is $50 for the half; $35 for the 10K; and $25 for the 5K. All runs will take place on the historic Edwards AFB Lakebed and flight line.
