Gaining Altitude – Growth Opportunities for the Week

Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community

- When you look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see?  When others take a long look at you, what do they see?  The “mirror” can lie and people are often judgmental, so we rarely have the ability to gain true self-knowledge.  So how do you gain true self-knowledge?  We must recognize it as a gift that allows us to avoid self-preoccupation and instead focus on something bigger than ourselves. When we understand the importance of the vertical dimension of life, we begin to understand ourselves.

Through our prayers – an opportunity to pray for the needs of our community

- Pray that God would draw you out from “self” to see the bigger picture.
