Memorial service

Donald Lee “Don” Amidon, 68, passed away July 4 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., July 11 at Edwards Chapel 2. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Chapel Annex. Don is survived by his wife Bonita “Bonnie” Amidon of California City, and his sister Janet Amidon of Peoria, Ill. Don was born Feb, 11, 1946, in Pontiac, Ill. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in November of 1965.†He served at NCOIC, Academics Branch, USAF Test Pilot School and was a volunteer member of the Edwards Blue Eagle Honor Guard.†Amidon retired from active duty at the rank of senior master sergeant in 1987. Most recently he was a member of the 412th Communications Squadron. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Disabled American Veterans. For information, call (661) 277-1932.
