Express fuel pumps to shut down July 21 & 22

The AAFES Express gasoline station will undergo vapor testing next week, which requires the pumps to be turned off to complete the process.†The fuel pumps will be shut down 8-11 a.m., July 21, and 7 a.m.-1 p.m., July 22. For more information, call (661) 258-1078, Ext. 200.

Focus group

Here’s your chance to be heard. The Edwards Commissary is looking for volunteers to participate in a group discussion about your Commissary. They will be conducting focus groups July 29 from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you would like to participate, send an e-mail to decabrand@deca.mil as soon as possible, but no later than July 22. Volunteers needed

Team Edwards is calling for volunteers. There will be a second planning meeting for the November 2014 National American Indian Heritage Month Observance 1:30 p.m, July 24 in the 412th Civil Engineering Directorate (Bldg. 3500), Conference Room 2.†The planning committee will be discussing specific details to make the celebration a reality. Retirement

Col. Tammy L. Smeeks: Maj. Gen. Arnold W. Bunch, Jr., Air Force Test Center commander, requests the pleasure of your company at a ceremony honoring Col. Tammy L. Smeeks, individual mobilization augmentee to the 412th Mission Support Group commander, on the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. Sandra B. Sergent: Sandra B. Sergent, 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron director, is retiring after 48 years of government service. Embry-Riddle registration

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Universityís fall term begins Aug. 11, and registration is still open. Additionally, new student applications are still being accepted for the 2014-15 academic year. Global Leadership Summit

The Edwards Chapel has seats available for the Global Leadership Summit global telecast Aug. 14-15 at Desert Vineyard Church in Lancaster. Featured participants include Bill Hybels, Tyler Perry,†President and CEO of GE Jeffrey Immelt and best-selling author Susan Cain.

Blood drive

The next American Red Cross Blood Drive at Edwards AFB is 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug. 6 in the Chapel 1 Annex. Both walk-ins and appointments are accepted.
