Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community
– Professor Clayton Christensen at Harvard Business School is amazed at the fraction of students who give so little thought to their purpose in life. He recognizes that finding your purpose is not always easy even for Harvard students. He decided to dedicate one hour per night thinking, studying and “praying about why God put me on this earth”. In addition he realized, “Had I instead spent that hour each day learning the latest techniques for mastering the problems of autocorrelation in regression analysis, I would have badly misspent my life. I apply the tools of econometrics a few times a year, but I apply my knowledge of the purpose of my life every day”. Do you know your purpose in life and if not have you spent time trying to discern that purpose?
