Pediatric flu shots

The Immunizations Clinic will be vaccinating the Edwards pediatric community between the ages of 6 and 35 months.†When the adult stock is received, the dates will be released to vaccinate the remaining Tricare beneficiaries. The Immunization Clinic is open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and noon-4:30 p.m., Wednesdays. The clinic is closed for lunch 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information, call 661-277-8079.

CHP, LAPD entrance exam

There will be law enforcement opportunity briefs by the California Highway Patrol and entrance exam testing with the Los Angeles Police Department Sept. 9 at the Airman & Family Readiness Center Transition Assistance classroom. The CHP will brief from 8-10 a.m., and the LAPD 11 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information, call 661-277-0230.

POW/MIA 5K

The Edward’s Air Force Sergeants Association, Chapter 1328, will be hosting a POW/MIA Remembrance Day 5K run Sept. 19. They are looking for unit POCs to promote the event and register participants (both on and off base is authorized). The unit with the most recruits will be presented the AFSA POW/MIA 5K ìTop Recruiterî Award and will have bragging rights for a whole year. The funds raised by this event will be used to promote POW/MIA awareness, the local AFSA chapter and their quality of life improvement efforts on and off base. The entrance fee is $25 per person and each participant will receive a POW/MIA t-shirt, a POW/MIA medallion, water and snacks. The top three winners in each category will be presented medals and outlined in the Desert Wings.† If you have any questions or to become your unit’s POC, contact Master Sgt. Give Parents a Break

Football is back!

NFL Sunday Ticket at the High Desert Lanes Bowling Center begins Sept. 7. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for 10 a.m. kickoff. Watch all the games not aired on regular TV and take advantage of the breakfast and lunch specials. For more information, call 661-275-BOWL.

Football Frenzy Kick-Off at Club Muroc begins Sept. 8. Monday Night Football! Drink specials and buffet available beginning at 5 p.m. Cost is $5 for members, and $6 for non-members. For more information, call 661-275-CLUB.
