Gaining Altitude — Growth Opportunities for the Week

Downtown, you may see signs at local churches proclaiming today, April 1, as “National Atheists’ Day.” These are based on a scriptural text from the Judeo/Christian tradition that states, “The fool says in heart, ‘there is no God …'” They think it is “funny.” Your Wing Chaplain thinks it is disrespectful. As Airmen we come from diverse backgrounds, and it is vitally important to respect the various beliefs, traditions and cultures that are a part of our community. Every day, our national media displays  an incessant stream of abuse based on divisions of opinion or belief. As Airmen, we must not denigrate our fellow Airmen.  We do not have to agree to be respectful of each other.
