DL schedules bowling tournament

Desert Lanes will hold a mixed doubles tournament starting at noon on Saturday. The tournament is open to all adult bowlers. Cost is $20 per person, plus a $5 participation fee for bowlers who don’t have a U.S. Bowling Congress card.

TMAC plans Easter Brunch Buffet

Everyone is invited to the Thunder Mountain Activity Centre’s all-you-can-eat Easter Brunch Buffet, Sunday from 10 a.m. ““ 2 p.m. Cost, with gratuity included, is $25 for adults; $12.50 for children 5 to 11; and children 4 and under dine for free.

The buffet will feature several gourmet entrees, assorted fresh fruit, seafood, salads, a selection of breakfast specialties, vegetables, potatoes, rolls and muffins, pasta and cheeses, plus the dessert buffet featuring the chocolate fountain.

Register now for duathlon

The Fort Huachuca 2-10-2 Duathlon will be held April 14, 7 a.m. at Brock Field. The duathlon consists of a 2-mile run, a 10-mile bike ride, finishing with a 2-mile run.

The fee for active duty military is $15 and $25 for active duty teams. The registration fee for all other individual competitors is $15 and $20 for teams. Register at Eifler Fitness Center, Barnes Field House or online at active.com. Registration ends Wednesday.

Celebrate the Military Child with MWR

The “Month of the Military Child” celebration is set for April 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Thunder Mountain Activity Centre. There will be family oriented activities, including games, jumping castles, paintball, giveaways, information booths, free lunch, popcorn, cotton candy, Barney’s Backyard Barnyard Petting Zoo, “Mrs. B’s Storytime” and more.

Save with advance carnival ride tickets

The 2012 Festival of the Southwest will be held April 20 ““ 22 at Veterans’ Memorial Park, Fry Boulevard, Sierra Vista. The festival is open to the public and there is no admission charge.

There will be many attractions for the entire family including the popular City of Fun Carnival, with rides for all ages.

Advance carnival tickets are on sale now at Murr Community Center, Fort Huachuca and Safeway and Buffalo Wild Wings in Sierra Vista, at the price of $9 for 10 tickets. During the carnival, the cost will be $12 for 10 tickets. Wrist bands are also available at Murr CC only, for the price of $22 per day. For more ticket information, call 533.2404.

Vendor applications are still available for the Festival. Food, craft and other vendors are encouraged to take part in this money-making opportunity.

Sign up for the Mutt March

As part of the Festival of the Southwest, the 5 kilometer Mutt March will be held April 21 starting at 7:30 a.m. Bring your pet and participate in this event.

Cost is $10 for pet and human. Refreshments and a t-shirt will be included, while they last. Sign up at the southwest side of Veterans’ Memorial Park.
