Irwin Pool to host free movie

FMWR will present a free Moonlight Movie “Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked,” Saturday at Irwin Pool. The movie will start at dusk.

Free popcorn, hot dogs, water and soft drinks will be provided, while supplies last.

Watch UFC at Murr this Saturday

Murr Community Center invites everyone to come and watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship match, Belfort vs. Silva, Saturday. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Admission is free, a pay-as-you-go beer bar will be available, and the Café will be open.

Win prizes at Desert Lanes

Now through July 31, all bowlers at Desert Lanes are eligible to enter the Summer Bowling Contest for a chance to win a Kindle® or a bowling ball. Cost is $2 per entry, and winners will be determined by total scores.

Fort, City to hold golf tourney

Fort Huachuca and the City of Sierra Vista will host the Inaugural Partnership Golf Scramble June 30 at Mountain View Golf Course, beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Cost is $55 per person, or $40 for members, and includes, golf, cart and lunch. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishing teams, and individual prizes will be awarded to men and women for longest drive and closest to pin.

Register youth for summer activities

Registration for the SKIESUnlimited “Exploring Summer Fun” programs continues for all classes.

Classes include: horse camp, arts and crafts camps, piano camp, learn-to-swim, a babysitter course, including first aid and CPR, learn to sew, gymnastics camp, cheerleading camp, plus academic classes such as creative writing, college prep writing and examining literature through film.

TMAC will host Zumba party/Latin night

Thunder Mountain Activity Centre will host a “Zumba Party” followed by Latin Night, July 13.

From 7 – 9 p.m., free Zumba lessons will be given by Ximena Aponte and prizes will be given away. From 9 p.m. – 2 a.m., enjoy music by DJ Saul Caraballo.

Admission is $5 at the door, and attendees must be 18 or older. A pay-as-you-go bar will be available. For more information, call 533.3802 or 533.7322.

 

Salt River tubing trip offered

Outdoor Recreation has planned tubing trips to the Lower Salt River on the following dates: July 14 and Aug. 25. Trips leave at 7 a.m. and return at 7 p.m.

Cost is $40 for tubing, with $25 paid at the time of registration and $15 paid in cash at the float house for the tube and bus rides to drop-off/pickup sites.

Trips depart from MWR Rents, Building 70914, Irwin Street. For more information, call 533.6707.
