Ellis, a military intelligence professional and inductee into the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame, who, “through his worldwide assignments, has contributed immeasurably to the success of the Military Intelligence Corps mission.†Approximately 100 people attended the ceremony which celebrated Ellis’ accomplishments during his Army MI career.

Ellis’ final assignment was as deputy director, National Clandestine Service for Community Human Intelligence Agency, Washington D.C. On May 4, 2009, Ellis died on active duty after 31 years of honorable Army service.
