HT-JCOE auditorium named for MI general

Todd Holiday, USAICoE command sergeant major, unveil the plaque which officially memorialized Ellis Auditorium in Matlack Hall, Tuesday. Ellis, a military intelligence professional and inductee into the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame, who, “through his worldwide assignments, has contributed immeasurably to the success of the Military Intelligence Corps mission.” Approximately 100 people attended the ceremony which celebrated Ellis’ accomplishments during his Army MI career.

Richard Ellis for whom the auditorium was memorialized during a June 27 ceremony at Matlack Hall, Human Intelligence Training Joint Center of Excellence; Command Sgt. Maj. Todd Holiday, USAICoE command sergeant major; and Col. John Szypko, commander HT-JCOE and event co-host; listen to Maj. Gen. Richard Lake, U.S. Marine Corps, Deputy Director of the National Clandestine Service for Community Human Intelligence, Central Intelligence Agency and event keynote speaker, as he discusses Ellis’ many accomplishments within the military intelligence community. Ellis’ final assignment was as deputy director, National Clandestine Service for Community Human Intelligence Agency, Washington D.C. On May 4, 2009, Ellis died on active duty after 31 years of honorable Army service.
