Motorcyclists should secure vehicles carefully

Sierra Vista Police Department

Since April, Sierra Vista Police have been seeing an increase in motorcycle thefts. As of Tuesday, 16 motorcycle thefts have been confirmed.

SVPD officers ask that owners take extra precautions, such as using existing fork locks, disc locks (which can be purchased at any motorcycle dealership) and chain locks which can be purchased at any hardware store or local retailer.

Those who purchase a chain lock should fasten the motorcycle to a solid, immovable object, to help prevent their motorcycle from being taken.
