Publish non-profit event information

BRIEFS: All “briefs” announcing news or community events should be submitted by noon, Thursday, the week before publication of the following Thursday’s “Scout.” Under Army regulations, the “Scout” cannot advertise or promote fundraisers, even for non-profit groups.

Send submissions in Microsoft Word format. Copy should be submitted in paragraph style, in sentence case.

News briefs are generally limited to 75 or fewer words. Submit briefs as early as possible, even months away.

Briefs should be written in the following format:
 

XYZ Club to host dinner

Join the XYZ Club for a spaghetti dinner on April 26, 5-7 p.m. at the XYZ Clubhouse, 9 Boulder Lane, Sierra Vista. Menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, rolls, salad and non-alcoholic beverage. Cost is $7.50 per person or $4 for those 10 and under.
