AA Men’s Soccer now at FH

All Army Men’s Soccer Trial Camp is underway at Fort Huachuca through Sept. 22.

Practices are free and open to the public, and will be held at Bujalski Field, next to Barnes Field House from 9 – 11 a.m. and 7 – 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Scrimmages against local teams have been set for tonight and Friday at 7 p.m., also at Bujalski Field. For more information, call 533.3246.

Irwin Pool to close for season

Irwin Pool will be open Monday, Labor Day, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pool will then close for the season, and patrons will be able to use Barnes Indoor Pool.

Sign up for free volleyball tournament

Murr Community Center will host a free volleyball tournament “in the sand” Sunday starting at 2 p.m. Bring a six-person team, or teams will be assigned. Patrons 18 and older are welcome.

Win prizes. A pay-as-you-go beer bar will also be available.

Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families

The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families will visit Fort Huachuca Sept. 13 and 14 with special shows at Barnes Field House at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. both days.

The show focuses on the challenges of deployments and their impact on military youth. During the performance, Elmo and his Sesame pals will help Katie — a military friend relocating to a new place — open up about her fears and excitement in dealing with change and making new friends.

Admission is free, and the shows are open to military identification card holders and their families.

Free outdoor movie set for Sept. 15

FMWR will present a free Moonlight Movie “Humans vs. Zombies” Sept. 15 at Warrior/Sentinel Field. The movie will start at dusk.

Free popcorn, hot dogs, water and soft drinks will be provided, while supplies last.

Don’t miss Right Arm Night

The next Right Arm Night takes place Sept. 21, 4 p.m. at Murr Community Center preceding the preliminary round of the Operation Rising Star singing competition.

Free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go beer bar will be available. Take part in contests; win prizes.

FMWR seeks next ‘Rising Star’

FMWR is looking for contestants for the 2012 Operation Rising Star contest, a worldwide singing competition, based on the “American Idol” television series.

The contest is open to all branches of active duty military, Reserve, National Guard or their military Family members 18 and older. Applications are available now on-line at www.OpRisingStar.com. The local competition will be held in September.
