AA Men’s Soccer now at FH

All Army Men’s Soccer Trial Camp is underway at Fort Huachuca through Sept. 22.

Practices are free and open to the public, and will be held at Bujalski Field, next to Barnes Field House from 9 – 11 a.m. and 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 533.3246.

Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families

The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families is visiting Fort Huachuca today and Friday with special shows at Barnes Field House at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. both days.

The show focuses on the challenges of deployments and their impact on military youth. During the performance, Elmo and his Sesame pals will help Katie — a military friend relocating to a new place — open up about her fears and excitement in dealing with change and making new friends.

Admission is free, and the shows are open to military identification card holders and their families.

Free outdoor movie set for Sept. 15

FMWR will present a free Moonlight Movie “Humans vs. Zombies” Saturday at Warrior/Sentinel Field. The movie will start at dusk.

Free popcorn, hot dogs, water and soft drinks will be provided, while supplies last.

Sign up for CC Cross Country Run

The team representative’s meeting for the 2013 Commander’s Cup Cross Country Run will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at Barnes Field House.

Participating units must submit a Letter of Intent with team coach’s name, duty phone and email by close of business on Monday. The run will be conducted Sept. 22, 6 a.m. at Mountain View Golf Course.

Don’t miss Right Arm Night

The next Right Arm Night takes place Sept. 21, 4 p.m. at Murr Community Center preceding the preliminary round of the Operation Rising Star singing competition.

Free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go beer bar will be available. Take part in contests; win prizes.

Buy carnival tickets now and save

Advance carnival tickets are now on sale for the 2012 Fun Festival, Sept. 28 – 30 at Veterans’ Memorial Park, Sierra Vista. Rides will be provided for The City of Fun Carnival.

Buy in advance and save $3. Get tickets at Murr Community Center on Fort Huachuca or at Safeway or Buffalo Wild Wings in Sierra Vista for the price of $9 for 10 tickets. During the carnival, the same number of tickets will sell for $12.

All-day wristbands are being sold at Murr CC only for the price of $22 per day.

FMWR seeks next ‘Rising Star’

FMWR is looking for contestants for the 2012 Operation Rising Star contest, a worldwide singing competition, based on the “American Idol” television series.

The contest is open to all branches of active duty military, Reserve, National Guard or their military Family members 18 and older. Applications are available now on-line at www.OpRisingStar.com. The local competition will be held later this month.
