FCC seeks child care providers

The Fort Huachuca Family Child Care Program staff is looking for people who want to earn an income while they stay at home and raise their children.

An average FCC Provider earns at least $490 per child per month. Providers need not live on Fort Huachuca to become part of the program. The next New Provider Training begins Oct. 23.

‘Bikes & Bands’ returns Oct. 14

FMWR and Sierra Cycles invite everyone to “party in the street” when they present the “Bikes and Bands” Street Fair Oct. 14, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Hatfield Street, between Irwin and Bissel on Fort Huachuca.

“Brigade FMX World Wide Extreme Motorsports,” and a local rock band, will perform. Food and merchandise vendors will be available, along with bike displays, biker and sports gear and much more.

Team meeting set for CC Basketball

The team representative’s meeting for the 2013 Commander’s Cup Basketball Program is scheduled for Oct. 16, 10 a.m. at Barnes Field House.

Letters of intent will also be due at close of business Oct. 16. The program will begin Nov. 5.

Celebrate Halloween with FMWR

FMWR will celebrate Halloween Oct. 19 and 20. From 6 – 8 p.m. both days, various free children’s activities will be available. For older youth and adults, the haunted house will be open from 6 – 10 p.m.; and from 7 – 10 p.m., they can enjoy spooky “haunted hay hides.”

All activities will be held at Wren Arena — watch for signs. Events are free to all.

‘Laugh Out Loud’ at the next RAN!

FMWR will present the “Laugh Out Loud” Comedy Tour, combined with October’s Right Arm Night Oct. 24 starting at 4 p.m. at the Thunder Mountain Activity Centre.

The show will feature Josh Blue, winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” the GIs of Comedy and comedian Jody Fuller, as host and emcee. Admission is free, and the show is open to everyone 18 and older. Free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go bar will be available.

Sign up now for BOSS trip

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, or BOSS, has planned a trip to Phoenix/Scottsdale from Nov. 2 – 4 to see comedian Kevin Hart at the Comerica Center Theatre.

The price is $200 and includes VIP suite tickets for the concert and two nights’ lodging in downtown Scottsdale. BOSS will also provide transportation.

RAP announces winter hours

During the winter months, the Recreational Adventure Park, or RAP, is open Monday – Friday from 4 – 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.

The RAP offers batting cages and paintball fields, plus equipment rental for both activities. The facility is located off Hatfield Street, across from the Mini Mall at Pauley Field.

Enjoy TMAC’s lunch buffet

Everyone is invited to enjoy lunch at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre, now served Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

TMAC offers the lunch buffet for $8.95 for adults or $4.50 for children 5 – 11. All buffets include salad bar, desserts, rolls and a non-alcoholic beverage.
