Fort Huachuca Halloween trick-or-treat hours will be on Oct. 31, 6 – 8 p.m. for children under 14. Children 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. On Oct. 30, 4 – 8 p.m. at the Main Fire Station across from the Main Post Chapel, firefighters will hand out candy and display their new ladder fire truck. They will also accept non-perishable food items for donation to the Chaplains Food Locker.
Standard access requirements for the installation remain in effect. This includes the requirement for presentation of valid picture identification and that all motor vehicle operators have in their possession a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
Access control personnel must be able to identify people entering the installation. Therefore, do not wear a costume with a mask or excessive makeup.
The Fort Huachuca military and Department of the Army police will detain and cite juveniles violating the installation curfew policy. Violations will result in the parent or legal guardian being required to sign for their family members at the Military Police Station. Should a second offense occur, the juvenile offender will be required to appear before the Juvenile Review Board with his or her parents or legal guardian.
Directorate of Emergency Services personnel also remind community members that if they choose to wear a costume, use discretion and advise against toy or imitation knives, guns or swords. For safety and in order to ensure this cherished tradition is a treat for all, both adults and children should wear clothing with reflectors, carry a flashlight, and continually be aware of their surroundings, particularly when crossing roadways.
