FH DFACs celebrates Thanksgiving with special meals

Col. Dan McFarland, Fort Huachuca garrison commander, serves up lobster with a smile while Command Sgt. Maj. Roger Daigle, garrison command sergeant major, watches. It is a tradition for Fort Huachuca senior leaders in dress uniform to serve the Thanksgiving meal.

Judging by the expressions on their faces, Soldiers enjoyed the Thunderbird Dining Facility’s Thanksgiving dinner. It offered a welcome break from the standard daily fare. The Virginia Hall Dining Facility opened its doors to the Fort Huachuca community for a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 22, Thanksgiving Day.

Aztec dancers add drama to the meal and pay homage to the role Native people played at the first Thanksgiving. They were part of the special program diners enjoyed at Thunderbird Dining Facility Nov. 21.

Members of the 62nd Army Band provided musical entertainment to those who attended Thanksgiving dinner at the Thunderbird Dining Facility on Nov. 21.
