NOEL event Friday, Saturday

FMWR will present “NOEL” — Night of Extraordinary Lights — Friday and Saturday from 4 – 11 p.m. at Mountain View Golf Course. This free event is open to everyone.

Activities include: hay rides to view holiday light displays, ice skating rink (skates provided), photos with Santa, holiday movies, letters to the North Pole and more.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and craft vendors will be on hand for holiday shopping.

Join ‘Biggest Loser’ Boot Camp

Sports, Fitness and Aquatics will present the “Biggest Loser Boot Camp,” a three-month-long weight loss camp beginning in January and offered free to FMWR patrons.

The program includes: nutrition counseling; basic food preparation and cooking for a healthy diet; full body and fitness assessments; and individual workout programs along with group programs.

Entry forms and physician’s clearance forms are available at Barnes Field House and Eifler Fitness Center. Applications are due Dec. 20 by 5 p.m.

Racquetball team meeting set for Dec. 12

The team representatives meeting for the 2013 Intramural Racquetball Tournament will be held Dec. 12, 10 a.m., at Barnes Field House.

Team rosters are due no later than Jan. 2. The tournament will begin Jan. 7 at 6 p.m.

Register now for 10K Icebreaker Run

Registration is now open for the 10K Icebreaker Run set for Jan. 19, 7 a.m., starting and finishing at Eifler Fitness Center.

Registration for the run (without t-shirt) is free for active duty until Jan. 4; for active duty for the run plus t-shirt, cost is $5 until Jan. 4; and after Jan. 4, cost is $15 for everyone. Register at Barnes Field House, Eifler Fitness Center, or online at active.com. Registration ends at 9 p.m., Jan. 16.

DL, JD plan New Year’s Eve Party

Desert Lanes Bowling Center and Jeannie’s Diner have planned their annual New Year’s Eve party for Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. The event is open to the public. Everyone is invited to “bowl in the New Year.”

The cost, which includes bowling, is $45 per adult; $20 per child 13 and under; or $165 to rent a lane, with maximum of eight bowlers per lane. Party favors, prizes from the prize wheel, shoe rental, a glass of champagne or cider will also be included in the package.

Popular music from the 70s to the present will provide entertainment. Finger foods, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. A pay-as-you-go bar will also be available.

SKIES offering new classes for youth

Child, Youth and School Service’s SKIESUnlimited Program is offering several new classes, including college and high school prep writing, computer, gymnastics, musical theatre, piano lessons, drama, cooking, karate, tae kwon do, arts, crafts, and dance, including African Style, hip hop, jazz/tap, ballet/tap, contemporary/lyrical, and dance technique and stretching classes.

Participants must be registered with CYSS. Parent Central Services is located in Building 52111, 533.0738.
