Register now for 10K Icebreaker Run

Registration is now open for the 10K Icebreaker Run set for Jan. 19, 7 a.m., starting and finishing at Eifler Fitness Center.

Registration for the run (without t-shirt) is free for active duty until Jan. 4; for active duty for the run plus t-shirt, cost is $5 until Jan. 4; and after Jan. 4, cost is $15 for everyone. Register at Barnes Field House, Eifler Fitness Center, or online at active.com. Registration ends at 9 p.m., Jan. 16.

TMAC to close over holiday break

The Thunder Mountain Activity Centre will be closed Friday – Jan. 7 for the holiday break. It will reopen for business on Jan. 8.

Free fitness classes offered

The Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Division offers free ongoing fitness classes, including spinning, Zumba, yoga, aerobics, water fitness classes and more.

DL, JD plan New Year’s Eve Party

Desert Lanes Bowling Center and Jeannie’s Diner have planned their annual New Year’s Eve party for Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. The event is open to the public. Everyone is invited to “bowl in the New Year.”

The cost, which includes bowling, is $45 per adult; $20 per child 13 and under; or $165 to rent a lane, with a maximum of eight bowlers per lane. Party favors, prizes from the prize wheel, shoe rental, a glass of champagne or cider will also be included in the package.

Popular music from the 70s to the present will provide entertainment. Finger foods, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. A pay-as-you-go bar will also be available.

SKIES offering new classes for youth

Child, Youth and School Service’s SKIESUnlimited Program is offering several new classes, including college and high school prep writing, computer, gymnastics, musical theatre, piano lessons, drama, cooking, karate, tae kwon do, arts, crafts, and dance, including African Style, hip hop, jazz/tap, ballet/tap, contemporary/lyrical, and dance technique and stretching classes.

Participants must be registered with CYSS. Parent Central Services is located in Building 52111, 533.0738.

FMWR Rents has Phoenix Suns NBA tickets

FMWR Rents has vouchers available for discounted tickets to Phoenix Suns basketball games.

Rents has also scheduled the following Phoenix Suns NBA Basketball game trips: March 9, Suns versus the Houston Rockets, cost $35 for ticket, $50 for ticket with transportation; and March 20, Suns versus the Indiana Pacers, cost $40 for ticket, $55 for ticket with transportation. A limited number of tickets are available with transportation.

SAC has openings for After-School Care

The School-Age Center, Building 52056, has several openings in their after-school care program. The program is open to 1st through 5th grade children of military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and contractors.

RAP announces winter hours

During the winter months, the Recreational Adventure Park, or RAP, is open Monday – Friday from 4 – 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.
