The All Army Men and Women’s Cross Country Teams captured Gold in the team competitions at the 2013 Armed Forces Cross Country Championship, Saturday, in St. Louis, Mo.
The All Army Men also took a clean medal sweep — gold, silver and bronze — in the individual Open 12K competition at the Armed Forces Championship with runners finishing in the following order: 1st – Spc.Robert Cheseret; 2nd – Spc. Joseph Chirlee; and 3rd – Spc. Augustus Maiyo, all of Fort Carson, Colo.
The 2013 Armed Forces Championship Final Men’s Team results were: 1st, U.S. Army; 2nd, U.S. Air Force; 3rd, U.S. Marine Corps; and 4th, U.S. Navy.
The All Army Men’s Gold medal team consists of: Spc. Robert Cheseret; Spc. Joseph Chirlee; Spc. Augusta Maiyo; Spc. Kyle Heath; and Spc. Edwin Sang; all of Fort Carson, Colo. Other team members are Capt. Ken Foster, Fort Huachuca and Capt. Charles Ballew, Alexandria, Va.
The 2013 Armed Forces Championship Final Women’s Team results were: 1st, U.S. Army; 2nd, U.S. Navy; 3rd, U.S. Air Force; and 4th, U.S. Marine Corps.
Capt. Kelly Calway, Fort Carson, took gold in the women individual Open 8K competition at the Armed Forces Championship. Calway was formerly stationed on Fort Huachuca.

Ashley Urick, Fort Lewis, Wash.; Capt. Capt. Michele Kelly, Ft. Lee, Va.; and Spc. Sandra Rivera, Yakima, Wash. (U.S. Army Reserve).
Head coach for both the Army men’s and women’s teams is Lt. Col. Liam Collins, U.S. Military Academy, N. Y.
The All Army Men’s team was crowned the gold medal in the team Open 12K competition amongst all teams competing at the USTF championship. This is a testament to the highly skilled runners on the All Army team competing among the best runners in the United States.
The twelve men and five women service members selected to the Armed Forces/Conseil International du Sport Militaire Team will go to the 2013 CISM Championship, March 13 – 18 in Apatin, Serbia. The selection is based on overall time/placement and availability. The Army will be represented with eight Soldiers. They include: Spc. Robert Cheseret, Spc. Joseph Chirlee, Spc. August Maiyo, Spc. Kyle Heath, Spc. Edwin Sang and Capt. Kelly Calway, all of Fort Carson, Colo., and Maj. Emily Potter, Fort Bragg, N.C. and 2nd Lt. Chelsea Prahl, Fort Lee, Va.
