BOSS plans trip to Renaissance Fest

You’re invited to Right Arm Night

The next Right Arm Night, or RAN, will take place Feb. 22, 4 p.m., at Murr Community Center. The theme of this RAN is “ladies’ night.”

Free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go beer bar will be available. Win contests and prizes.

RAN is free and open to everyone, including Soldiers, civilians, retirees and Family members 18 and older.

MWR Rents has Phoenix Suns NBA tickets

MWR Rents has vouchers available for discounted tickets to Phoenix Suns basketball games.

They have scheduled the following Phoenix Suns NBA Basketball game trips: March 9, Suns versus the Houston Rockets, cost $35 for ticket, $50 for ticket with transportation; and March 20, Suns versus the Indiana Pacers, cost $40 for ticket, $55 for ticket with transportation. A limited number of tickets are available with transportation.

Register for mountain bike race

The Mountain Bike Association of Arizona, along with FMWR Outdoor Recreation, will host the “Foray at the Fort” mountain bike race Feb. 23, starting at Wren Arena. For more information or to register, go online to www.mbaa.net.

New barbershop open at Desert Lanes

Cochise College Rodeo set to return

March 2 and 3, FMWR, the Sierra Vista Riding Club and Cochise College will host the Cochise College Rodeo at Wren Arena, Fort Huachuca.

On March 2, gates open at 8 a.m. for slack rodeo, and the performance will start at 2 p.m.; on March 3, Exceptional Rodeo starts at 10 a.m.; Cowboy Church at noon, and the Championship Round will start at 2 p.m.

The rodeo is open to the public and will feature saddle and bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.

Youth of all ages can enjoy Barney’s Backyard Barnyard Free Petting Zoo from 1 – 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon – 4 p.m. Sunday.

Active duty military and children 5 and under will be admitted free. Advance tickets for the general public go on sale Monday for $7 at Murr Community Center, Fort Huachuca, and at Cochise College, Sierra Vista and Douglas Campuses. Tickets will be $8 at the gate.

Don’t miss All Army Boxing

All Army Boxing is set to return to Fort Huachuca’s Barnes Field House March 6, 7 and 9, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and bouts starting at 7 p.m.

Boxers from installations around the world will compete for a spot on the 2013 All Army Team. Admission is free to everyone.

The School-Age Center, located at Building 52056, has several openings in their after-school care program. The program is open to 1st through 5th grade children of military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and contractors.

Everyone is invited to enjoy lunch at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre, now served Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Division offers free ongoing fitness classes, including spinning, Zumba, yoga, aerobics, water fitness classes and more.

SKIES offering classes for youth

Child, Youth and School Service’s SKIESUnlimited Program is offering several classes, including college and high school prep writing, computer, gymnastics, musical theatre, piano lessons, drama, cooking, karate, tae kwon do, arts, crafts, and dance, including African Style, hip hop, jazz/tap, ballet/tap, contemporary/lyrical, and dance technique and stretching classes.

Participants must be registered with CYSS. Parent Central Services is located in Building 52111, 533.0738.

RAP announces winter hours

During the winter months, the Recreational Adventure Park, or RAP, is open Monday – Friday from 4 – 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.

The RAP offers batting cages and paintball fields, plus equipment rental for both activities. The facility is located off Hatfield Street, across from the Mini Mall at Pauley Field.

Arts & Crafts Center classes forming now

The Arts & Crafts Center offers classes at various times Wednesday through Saturday.

Classes offered in the near future include: home décor, gourd art, glass fusing and slumping, digital photography and PhotoShop, sewing, wheel-thrown pottery, lapidary, framing and classes for youth of all ages. The class schedule is available at www.mwrhuachuca.com and at the Arts & Crafts Center.
