Get secure health messages online

Army Secure Messaging Service is here. Connect with your primary care manager at Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center online. This includes getting medication renewals, requesting lab or test results, or asking your provider a question. Ask primary care staff about secure messaging at your next visit and sign up. Beneficiaries must be enrolled at RWBAHC in order to participate.

This service is not for acute or urgent care needs.

ACS programs to reduce service during furlough

During the upcoming furlough, Family Action Plan, Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention, or SHARP, and Emergency Army Emergency Relief will be available throughout the week. However, some Army Community Service programs will not be available five days a week. Go to the ACS Facebook page at Fort Huachuca Army Community Service to view the schedule of program non-availability.

Walk-in services will be limited. Everyone is highly encouraged to make an appointment with the desired program manager to ensure service availability. Call 533.2330 to be connected with a program representative to set an appointment.

Volunteer to monitor hummingbirds

Hummingbird monitoring for the Hummingbird Monitoring Network at the Fort Huachuca Public Affairs Office is underway for the season. It takes place every other Sunday at Building 21115 across from the gazebo on Brown Parade Field. The next monitoring session takes place on Sunday, 4:45 a.m., for five hours.

The group needs volunteers to help capture the birds and gather data. The birds are banded and released for future monitoring.

Chapel to hold Vacation Bible School

The Fort Huachuca community is invited to Vacation Bible School Monday – July 26, 9 a.m. – noon daily at the Main Post Chapel. This year’s theme is “Kingdom Rock — Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” VBS is for youth 5 – 10. Childcare for children 6 months to 5 is available for volunteers.

Warrant officer recruiting team visits

A Warrant Officer Recruiting Team from the Special Operations Recruiting Battalion will brief on qualifications and application procedures to service members interested in becoming U.S. Army Warrant Officers. The briefing takes place this coming Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. daily, in the Kruse Room at the Fort Huachuca Education Center. The team is especially interested in critical shortage military occupational specialties 35N, 35S and 35T.

Muslim community to hold IFTAR

The Muslim community invites everyone to join them for an Iftar, breaking fast, potluck on July 26, 7 p.m., in the Main Post Chapel Fellowship Room. Bring a potluck dish to share.

PWOC plans fall kickoff

The Protestant Women of the Chapel, or PWOC, will hold their fall Bible study, worship, prayer and fellowship kickoff on Aug. 13, 9 – 11:30 a.m., at the Fort Huachuca Main Post Chapel. Child care is provided.

Fort to hold career, education fair

The Fort Huachuca Joint Career and Education Fair 2013 will take place Aug. 6, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Murr Community Center. The free event is open to Soldiers, veterans, civilians, contractors and Family members.

Employers, college and university representatives will staff information booths. Come dressed for success and with copies of your resume.

ISEC commanders to change

The U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command will take place Aug. 15, 11 a.m., at Greely Hall. Outgoing Commander Col. Kris Kramarich will relinquish command to Incoming Commander Col. Patrick Kerr. Kramarich will become the chief of staff for the Network Enterprise Technology Command.

Kerr is currently the deputy G3, Operations, U.S. Army Cyber Command/2nd Army.

VA clinical psychologist to speak

Michael Moore, Ph.D, clinical psychologist and Military Sexual Trauma Program coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, Tucson, will speak at Fort Huachuca on Aug. 22, 1 – 2 p.m., at Murr Community Center.

The presentation will cover: how the VA and federal code defines military sexual trauma, or MST; statistics regarding incident rates; common psychological and physiological reactions to trauma; and current treatment modalities that would be used in working with patients who have experienced MST. The program will cover the services VA offers for victims.

Installation retirement ceremony set

The next quarterly installation retirement ceremony take place July 26, 9 a.m., on Brown Parade Field to honor retiring Soldiers and civilians for their service to the nation. The public is invited.

Motorists should expect disruptions in the flow of traffic in the vicinity of the parade field during rehearsals and on the morning of the ceremony.

RWBAHC clinic closure

On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be mandatory training taking place for all primary family care clinics, or FCC, to include FCC-A/FCC-B and the Soldier Care Clinic. These clinics will be closed on these two days. All other specialty and ambulatory services will be open.

Weekend Holiday Clinic update

The Weekend Holiday Access Clinic will now be located at FCC-B for same-day appointment needs.

RWBAHC Call Center change

RWBAHC Call Center Hours are now 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for patient appointments.
