Global Leadership Summit takes place off post next week

For the past two years, Fort Huachuca military, civilian personnel and members of the surrounding community have attended the simulcast private view of the Global Leadership Summit, or GLS, on post.
This year, due to budgetary constraints, Fort Huachuca will be unable to host the GLS. However the Thunder Mountain Community Church, or TMCC, 4300 Golden Acres Dr., Sierra Vista, has made accommodations to receive those who want to attend. The two-day leadership development opportunity takes place Thursday and Aug. 9, beginning at 8 a.m.

The lead faculty member is former secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Gen. Colin Powell.

Members of the Willow Creek Association, sponsor of the GLS, understands the importance of developing leaders in the military, Department of Defense civilian workforce and the supporting contract community.
For this reason they have expanded the military rate of $99 to include uniformed service members and their spouses, active duty and retired military, National Guard, Army Reserve, wounded warriors, civil servants, contractors and everyone associated with Fort Huachuca.

This $45.50 per-day cost includes lunch and refreshments on both days.

The faculty and student rate is $79. To receive this rate, check the student/faculty box and list your school name when you register.

For Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets and cadre, the rate is $49 – use priority code 13TGLSURST.

The ministry at TMCC will assist those who wish to attend the GLS but have limited funds. Those who fall into this category should call 459.8622 as soon as possible.

Registration will generate an official GLS name tag listing your organization or church affiliation which will be at the TMCC GLS check-in table on Thursday beginning at 7:30 a.m.
