Union elects officers, plans meeting

AFGE Local 1662

The American Federation of Government Employees Local 1662 held its union officer elections July 17. New officers for the local union chapter are: Kathleen Rasdall, president; Anthony Will, vice president federal; Sandy Beares, vice president private; Angelika Figueroa, administrative vice president; Athena Blue, secretary; and Frances Long, treasurer.

“All of the newly elected officers would like to thank our local members for the opportunity that we have been given,” Rasdall said. “We are all looking forward to making positive changes for the Local 1662.”
To meet the new officers or learn more about the union, visit the union hall in Building 41410, Christy Avenue, or call 533.2879.

The next meeting is set for 5 p.m. Aug. 21 at Sierra Suites, Fry Boulevard. Union members interested in filing with the Merit Systems Protection Board regarding the furlough are asked to call the union hall.

Deadline is Thursday.
