See ‘The Sunshine Boys’ live at Murr

Family and MWR, along with the Illegitimate Theater Company of Sierra Vista will present Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys,” a comedy in two acts, live on stage at Murr Community Center.

Evening performances are set for 7 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12. Matinees will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 13.

Tickets are $16 and can be purchased in advance at Murr or at the door.

‘Bikes and Bands’ street fair Saturday

Family and MWR and Sierra Cycles invite you to “party in the street” when they present the “Bikes and Bands” Street Fair 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on Hatfield Street, between Irwin and Bissel on Fort Huachuca.

“Brigade FMX World Wide Extreme Motorsports featuring the Globe of Death and BMX Freestyle Jumping,” along with the MI Corps Band “Counter Intelligence,” will perform. Food vendors will be available, along with bike displays, biker and sports gear, free activities for the kids including jumping castles and the rock climbing wall.

Register to win a dirt bike

Family and MWR and Sierra Cycles want to help put a “toy under the tree” by giving away a 2013 Kawasaki KLX 140 ADF Dirt Bike (Valued at $2999) Dec. 14 at the N.O.E.L. holiday event.

Authorized MWR patrons over 18 years of age will have the opportunity to register for a chance to win the dirt bike at several upcoming events, including: Bikes and Bands, tomorrow, Hatfield Street, Fort Huachuca; Right Arm Night, Oct. 18 at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre; plus several more events, and a “traveling registration” box which will move between various MWR facilities. In addition, patrons can also register at Sierra Cycles, Sierra Vista.

MWR Rents adds Saturday hours

MWR Rents has announced new hours of operation. In order to accommodate the needs of their customers, the facility has added off-duty hours.

They are now open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday- Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

Murr seeks vendors for fall bazaar

Murr Community Center is looking for vendors who would like to display their items at their “fall bazaar” set for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13.

The event will be open to the public and items such as knit and hand-sewn apparel, candles, fragrances, wood crafts and much, much more will be available.

Vendors may pick up an application at Murr and the cost is $20 per space. For more information, call 533.2404.

Take a trip to ‘Disney On Ice’

Disney On Ice presents “Rockin’ Ever After” is bringing an all-star lineup of your favorite Disney characters to the ice in a sensational live production coming to Tucson.

Murr Community Center is offering tickets for two performances: 1 p.m. Oct. 12 and 3 p.m. Oct. 13. Show tickets are just $25 and Murr will also provide transportation.

Two vans will travel to each show, with 11 seats available per van. The vans will leave Murr CC approximately 2 hours before show time.

October’s RAN set for 18th

The October’s Right Arm Night will be held at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre at 4 p.m. Oct. 18. The theme for the night will be Minute-To-Win-It Game Night.

As always, Right Arm Night is free and open to everyone, including Soldiers, Civilians, Retirees and Family Members age 18 and older. Free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go bar will be available, contests will be held and prizes will be given.
