Lt. Dan Band coming to Fort Huachuca

For the past decade, Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band have brought their live shows to the nation’s service members and their Families. The Lt. Dan Band travels to cities and military bases around the world playing benefit concerts and boosting the morale of U.S. military and first responders.

On Sunday, the band will take center stage at Warrior/Sentinel Field, performing a free concert for all FMWR patrons and guests. Doors open at 2 p.m., and the show will start at 3 p.m. Don’t miss the chance to see the band live for the first time on Fort Huachuca! There is no charge.

Win a turkey at Jeannie’s Diner

From now to Nov. 24, customers can register at Jeannie’s Diner to win one of four free turkeys. The drawing will be held Nov. 25.

Check out Vet’s Day weekend specials

FMWR will observe Veterans Day with weekend specials of free services to active duty, Family members and retired military at the following facilities:

Nov. 8, Family and MWR Rents (533.6707) will offer half-price rentals; Nov. 9, the Arts and Crafts Center (533.2015/533.5550.) will provide free do-it-yourself time; Nov. 10, The Sportsman’s Center (533.7085) will allow free paintball field time and free shotgun rental for trap and skeet, and The RAP (533.7085/732.9310) will provide free use of the batting cages; Nov. 11, Desert Lanes (533.2849) will offer free bowling and shoes; Buffalo Corral (533.5220) will hold a free trail ride; Mountain View Golf Course (533.7088) will offer free golf and cart rental; and Nov. 12, Thunder Mountain Activity Centre (533.3802) will provide their lunch buffet for half price.

All free services will be limited to available time and space to be determined by each facility, so early reservations are recommended.

Register to win a dirt bike

FMWR and Sierra Cycles want to help put a “toy under the tree” by giving away a 2013 Kawasaki KLX 140 ADF Dirt Bike (Valued at $2,999) Dec. 14 at the N.O.E.L. holiday event.

Authorized MWR patrons over 18 years will have the opportunity to register for a chance to win the dirt bike at several upcoming events, and a “traveling registration” box which will move between various MWR facilities. In addition, patrons can also register at Sierra Cycles, Sierra Vista.

Ready for some football?

The annual “Turkey Bowl” football game is set for Nov. 22 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Warrior/Sentinel Field. The 11th Signal Soldiers will take on the 111th MI Brigade in gridiron action.

Admission is free, but everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to help replenish the Chaplain’s Food Locker.

Right Arm Night will follow Turkey Bowl

Don’t miss the next Right Arm Night following the Turkey Bowl Nov. 22 and starting at 4 p.m. at Warrior/Sentinel Field.

RAN is free and open to Soldiers, civilians, retirees and Family members 18 and older. There will be sponsor goodies and prizes, free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go bar.

MWR Rents adds Saturday hours

MWR Rents has announced new hours of operation. In order to accommodate the needs of their customers, the facility has added off-duty hours.

They are now open Monday – Friday, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
