Newest B Troop Riding School graduates receive their spurs

All members of the unit are uniformed, equipped, and armed in accordance with the U.S. Cavalry standards of the 1880s, to include a Ladies Auxiliary and an artillery section known as K Battery.

Cmdr. Troy Wilcox, B Troop, 4th Regiment, U.S. Cavalry (Memorial), congratulates the unit’s newest members, Retired Lt. Col. John Payne, Lt. Cmdr. Joshua Hengst, Capt. Luke Gosnell and Capt. Shea Redmond. B Troop, 4th Cavalry Regiment relies solely on volunteers to fill its ranks. The unit is always looking for the “best of the best” recruits to represent B Troop’s heritage. The unit is currently accepting applications for the next Cavalry Riding School, tentatively scheduled to begin in February 2014. B Troop, 4th Regiment, U.S. Cavalry (Memorial) prepare to honor the most recent graduates during the B Troop Riding School graduation ceremony Nov. 1 on Brown Parade Field. B Troop is a United States Army mounted ceremonial unit whose mission is to promote the heritage and traditions of the U.S. Army in the Southwest during the period of the Indian Wars and support recruiting, community relations, and official and nonofficial ceremonial functions, according to their website.
