FH Holiday Bazaar brings shopping experience to post

Wooden and sewn snowmen, Santas, pumpkins and more, all hand-crafted by Mary Gaskill from Oro Valley, will be in booths 91 and 92.

Barnes Field House will be transformed into a shopper’s paradise this weekend for the annual Fort Huachuca Holiday Bazaar featuring more than 90 artists, crafters and vendors offering a wide variety of handcrafted and manufactured goods.

“We’ve been preparing for the bazaar for months gathering almost 100 volunteers and 96 vendors,” said Sasha Griffin, president of the Fort Huachuca Community Spouses’ Club, or FHCSC. “The majority of our vendors are from Cochise County but we also have vendors from as far away as Phoenix, Casa Grande, Tucson, Sonoita and Willcox.

Products offered include home décor, wood crafts, metal art, yarn and fabric products, clothing and handbags, pottery, photography, jewelry, health and beauty products, pet beds, headbands and tutus, painted wine bottles, food items, wreaths, paper crafts, recycled textiles, river reed furniture and more.

“The holiday bazaar is the perfect place to find a gift for everyone on your list, not just for the holidays, but for any time of the year,” said Elizabeth Morgan, the FHCSC bazaar co-chair. “It’s truly one-stop shopping.”

The bazaar, a partnership between FHCSC and the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, offers food concessions and football games on big-screen TVs as well as a courtesy gift-wrapping booth manned by members of Family Readiness Groups.

Bazaar hours are Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The bazaar is free, and the public is invited.  The FHCSC is open to military of all ranks, retirees, their Family members and anyone who considers themselves part of the Fort Huachuca community.
