JD/DL plan New Year’s Eve party

Desert Lanes Bowling Center and Jeannie’s Diner have planned their annual New Year’s Eve party for Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

The event is open to the public. Everyone is invited to “bowl in the New Year.”

The cost, which includes five hours of bowling, is $45 per adult; $20 per child, 13 and under; or $165 to rent a lane, with a limit of eight bowlers per lane.

Party favors, prizes from the prize wheel, shoe rental, a glass of champagne (or cider) will be included in the package. Enjoy popular music from the ‘70s to the present.

Finger foods, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served from 8:30 p.m. – midnight. A pay-as-you-go bar will also be available.

Tickets are on sale now at Desert Lanes.

Register now for 10K Icebreaker Run

Registration is now open for the 10K Icebreaker Run set for Jan. 18, 8 a.m., starting and finishing at Eifler Fitness Center.

Registration for the run (without t-shirt) is free for active duty until Jan. 4; for active duty for the run plus t-shirt, cost is $5 until Jan. 4; and after Jan. 4, cost is $15 for everyone. Register at Barnes Field House, Eifler Fitness Center or online at active.com. Registration ends at 9 p.m., Jan. 16.

CDC offers ‘Parents Night Out’

New Beginnings Child Development Center will offer “Parents Night Out” Jan. 11, 6 – 10 p.m. Reservations will be taken until Jan. 8.

Charges of $16 per child apply. Children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services.

TMAC lunch buffet closed for holidays

The lunch buffet at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre is closed through Jan. 3 for the holiday break.

MWR Rents now open Saturdays

MWR Rents is now open Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Murr CC changes hours

Murr Community Center has new operating hours: Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday, noon – 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Murr Ticket Office is open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

MVGC offers golf special

Mountain View Golf Course is offering the following special until further notice: $20 for golf, including cart, all day, every day.

Coaches’ meeting set for CC Soccer

The coaches’ meeting for the 2014 Commander’s Cup Intramural Soccer Program is set for Jan. 22, 10 a.m., at Barnes Field House. Letters of Intent are due at that time.

The program will begin Feb. 10, 6 p.m. at Barnes Field House.

Arts & Crafts Center offers classes

The Arts & Crafts Center offers classes at various times Wednesday through Saturday.

Classes include: home décor, gourd art, glass fusing and slumping, digital photography and PhotoShop, sewing, wheel-thrown pottery, lapidary, framing and classes for youth of all ages. The class schedule is available at mwrhuachuca.com and at the Arts & Crafts Center.
