To our Community,

Col. Dan McFarland
commander U.S. Army Garrison Fort Huachuca

I very much appreciate everyone’s feedback on the horses at the Buffalo Corral.

Since my last message, Horse’n Around Rescue Ranch and Foundation, Inc. briefed me and our veterinarian on the technology they employ to treat aging and injured animals. Horse’n Around uses Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation, or VOM, and lasers to treat progressive and acute lameness, in addition to other equine medical issues.

Based on demonstrated success in relieving pain and the counsel of our veterinarian, we decided to transfer the four remaining animals to Horse’n Around. They were moved to their new home last week.

The rescue assured me that should the treatments fail in reducing the horses’ levels of pain, they would take the most humane action. Again, I appreciate everyone’s interest in this matter.

I thank Horse’n Around Horse Rescue Ranch for stepping forward and offering their services.
