Traffic safety camera 30-day warning period underway

City of Sierra Vista

The safety cameras at State Route 92 and Foothills Drive are under a 30-day warning period through Feb. 9. The cameras will be fully operational Feb. 10.

Drivers who speed and/or run the red light during the warning period will receive letters reminding them to reduce their speeds and help prevent major accidents, injuries, and fatalities by stopping for the red light.

The last remaining camera planned for Sierra Vista is at the intersection of State Routes 90/92 and Fry Blvd. and will begin its warning period on Feb. 10.

Nearly 100 percent of citation fees in Sierra Vista are retained by Cochise County Justice Courts in exchange for providing municipal court services. By law, the City of Sierra Vista is required to accept $4 per paid citation for police safety needs.
