Need guidance and information about resources to prepare for and locate employment? Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program, or ERP, can help. It offers information about local and federal employment opportunities, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, interviewing skills, resume critiquing, career planning resources and more.

Want to build work experience? Ask ERP personnel how to access volunteer opportunities. ERP services are available by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 538.5899 to set up an appointment and to obtain preliminary information via email.

Federal employment classes are also offered at ACS the second Tuesday monthly from 8 – 11:30 a.m. Upcoming classes are March 11 and April 8. Pre-registration is required. Classes are open to valid military identification card patrons only. Call 533.2330 to register.

ACS Virtual Career Library

Career research empowers people to focus on desired career goals, explore the world of work and tailor an appropriate educational program. Whether seeking a career change or having soon-to-be college/vocational school bound children, ACS Employment Readiness offers a free tool for authorized patrons.

The Virtual Career Library, or VCL, offers career planning tools, including access to books, videos, employment news, job banks, expert career advice, college and career school finder, and more. To register, go to http://www.virtualcareerlibrary.com/huachuca/.

For additional tips on career planning and self assessments to help you identify strengths and interests, contact ACS Employment Readiness.

Domestic Violence Victim Advocate

Victim advocates are on Fort Huachuca 24/7 because issues arise at all hours between domestic partners, which can escalate to power, control or abuse. For the person who is confused about how to manage in this relationship, there is confidential support.
Whether male or female, these circumstances are often embarrassing. There are larger issues such as “getting my spouse in trouble” and children who may be affected.

Those who become involved in a relationship that may be emotionally or physically abusive should consider seeking confidential support from ACS victim advocates. There are “restricted” reporting options for full confidentiality.

People may not be aware of the danger they are in, and a victim advocate may be able to help. Call ACS at 533.2330 or walk in. Or contact the Domestic Violence Hotline, 508.2772.

New Parent Support Program

The New Parent Support Program is designed to meet the needs of the military Family, including single and teen parents. Choose to be involved in as many of the services as you like.

Parent-Tot Play Group is held every Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. – noon, at the School Age Center, Building 52056. Enjoy stories, singing, playing games and making a craft to take home. There is also free playtime. Spend a morning with your child by participating in a program designed to improve their social, cognitive and motor skills. Space is limited, so reserve a spot today. The program is open to all ID card holders.

The Home Visiting Program, or HVP, has an experienced registered nurse who will provide parenting education and support on an individual basis. Staff members are here to support and encourage you. For more program information, call New Parent Support at 533.8961.

Army Emergency Relief

Army Emergency Relief, or AER, is now operating on an appointment-only schedule due to newly mandated processing procedures. Call for an appointment at 533.2330.

Priority is always given to emergency Red Cross situations which will be seen immediately.

Do you have a spouse or child attending college? Then visit the AER website at www.aerhq.org for information on the AER Scholarship for Spouses and Dependents of Active Duty Service Members.

Mandatory SHARP Training

The annual 3.5 hour mandatory Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention training will be held at Murr Community Center on Feb. 20 and March 20; all training sessions will be held from 8 – 11:30 a.m. This training is being provided by U.S. Army Garrison and is open to all Soldiers and Civilians on the installation. Breakfast items will be available for purchase. Questions can be addressed by calling 538.5971.
