‘Magic the Gathering’ events scheduled

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, or BOSS, will present “Friday Night Magic” tonight, 6 – 10 p.m., at Murr Community Center.

Murr and BOSS will also host the Arizona Magic Invitational “Magic the Gathering” qualifying event Feb. 22, starting at 10 a.m.

Entry fee is $20 for active duty military or $25 for all others. Prizes will be awarded based on the number in attendance.

Right Arm Night — don’t miss out

The next Right Arm Night is set to start at 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Thunder Mountain Activity Centre. Enjoy free finger foods and a pay-as-you-go bar, and win prizes in several contests.

Right Arm Night is free and open to those 18 and older, including Soldiers, Civilians, retirees and Family members.

CDC offers evening child care

New Beginnings Child Development Center will offer “Parents Night Out,” March 1, from 6 – 10 p.m. Reservations will be taken until Feb. 26.

Cost is $16 per child. Children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services.

College rodeo set to return to FH

March 1 and 2, FMWR, the Sierra Vista Riding Club and Cochise College will host the Cochise College Rodeo at Fort Huachuca’s Wren Arena.

Gates open at noon, and the rodeo starts at 1 p.m. both days. Sunday, cowboy church will start at 10 a.m., and Exceptional Rodeo will start at 10:30 a.m.

The rodeo is open to the public and will feature saddle and bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, team roping, bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying. Children of all ages can enjoy Barney’s Backyard Barnyard Free Petting Zoo from noon – 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Active duty military and children 5 and under will be admitted free. Advance tickets for the general public are on sale now for $7 at Murr Community Center, Fort Huachuca; Buffalo Wild Wings, Sierra Vista; and at Cochise College, Sierra Vista and Douglas campuses. Tickets will be $8 at the gate.

Dine at TMAC for lunch

Thunder Mountain Activity Centre personnel invite everyone to join them for their lunch buffet, now served Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Cost is $8.95 for adults or $4.50 for children 5 – 11. All buffets include salad bar, desserts, rolls and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Youth classes available at SKIES

Child, Youth and School Services SKIESUnlimited Program personnel offer several youth classes, including computer, gymnastics, piano lessons, cooking, karate, tae kwon do and dance.
