General Myer Elementary School

Seven fifth grade students from Christen McCracken’s class were selected to participate in the 2014 Youth, Education and Science, or YES Fair. Pictured front row, from left, are Piper Dozier, Jonathan Beal and Zachary Wiman. In the back row, from left, are McCracken, Isaac Olsen, Sara Michel, Chrishon Brown and Nicholas Huish. The students were excited to be the first fifth graders to represent General Myer School at Sulfur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Extension’s YES Fair.

Students in Amy Wolfe’s reading group completed work on book trailers. These book trailers were part of the school’s Red Carpet Book Trailer Premiere on March 14.

Students read novels in small literature circles. Instead of doing a traditional book report, students made movie trailers. Students needed to identify the characters, setting and conflict for the story. Students also sequenced main events from the text.
