Outdoor pool opens Saturday

Irwin Outdoor Pool will open for the season Saturday. Operating hours will be: Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; and federal and training holidays, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The pool is open to all authorized FMWR patrons.

Enjoy live theater this weekend at Murr

FMWR, along with the Illegitimate Theater Company of Sierra Vista, present “Too Soon For Daisies,” a full length comedy, live on stage at Murr Community Center.

Evening performances are set for today and Saturday at 7 p.m. A matinee will be presented Sunday at 2 p.m.

Right Arm Night — don’t miss out

The next Right Arm Night is set to start at 4 p.m. May 30 at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre. Enjoy free finger foods, a pay-as-you-go bar, and win prizes in several contests.

Right Arm Night is free and open to all, including Soldiers, Civilians, retirees and Family members.

Murr seeks crafters/vendors for bazaar

The staff at Murr Community Center is looking for crafters and vendors who wish to participate in the “Spring Bazaar” to be held June 7, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and June 8, noon – 4 p.m. Cost is $40 per table.

CDC offers evening child care June 7

New Beginnings Child Development Center will offer “Parents Night Out” June 7, 6 – 10 p.m.

Reservations will be taken through June 5. Charges of $16 per child apply. Children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services.

SFA schedules 5k walk/run

As part of the ongoing Community Health Promotion Council Family Fitness Series, Sports, Fitness and Aquatics will present a 5K Walk/Run May 31 starting at 8 a.m. at the youth baseball fields on 8th Street.

This free event is open to everyone. Participants may pre-register at Barnes Field House or Eifler Fitness Center, or register on-site the day of the event.

Reserve time at the RAP

The Recreational Adventure Park, The RAP, is now open by reservation only. Cost is $25 per half hour, or $50 per hour for unlimited hitting.

The facility is located off Hatfield Street, across from the Mini Mall at Pauley Field.

Free movie night set for June 14

FMWR will present a free Moonlight Movie, June 14, at Warrior/Sentinel Field. The movie will start at dusk.

Free popcorn, hot dogs, water and soft drinks will be provided, while supplies last.

Join TMAC for lunch

The staff at Thunder Mountain Activity Centre invites everyone to join them for their lunch buffet, now served Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tuesdays, they offer “TMAC Delight” with roast beef, chicken Caprese, mashed potatoes, rice and vegetables; Wednesday features “Tangy BBQ,” with Texas barbecued pork spareribs, barbecued chicken, pinto beans, collard greens and rice; Thursday features German food, with “Taste of the Rhine;” and Friday’s feature is “Down-home Delight” with fried chicken, fried catfish, mac and cheese, baked beans and more.

Cost of the lunch buffet is $8.95 for adults or $4.50 for children 5 – 11. All buffets include salad bar, desserts, rolls and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Youth classes available at SKIES

Child, Youth and School Services SKIESUnlimited Program personnel offer several youth classes, including computer, gymnastics, piano lessons, cooking, karate, tae kwon do and dance.
