TASC to support SMC with cost estimating, risk analysis

The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., has awarded TASC, Inc. a $3.9 million contract to provide cost-estimating services to the Development Planning Directorate.

The two-year contract has a one-year base and two six-month options.

“We will build on the work TASC’s systems engineering and integration team is already providing SMC to offer the Air Force best-value solutions and help ensure they accomplish their mission goals cost-effectively,” says Sidney Medford, division director of Financial and Business Analytics at TASC.

TASC will provide cost-estimating and earned-value activities for space-related research and development programs at SMC. Experts from two partner companies – MRC, LLC of McLean, Va., and Wyle of El Segundo, Calif. – will round out the TASC team.

“Our team aims to help the Air Force determine the affordability of existing and new space system concepts as they evolve into full acquisition programs,” says Medford.
