Senior leaders represent base at July 4th events

Col. Arnold Streland, SMC’s Space Superiority Systems director, welcomes dignitaries and guests at the 53rd Annual Korean Bell 4th of July Celebration in San Pedro, Calif. The bell was a gift to the United States from the Republic of Korea to mark the U.S. Bicentennial in 1976.

The ceremony established the retired naval vessel as a historical center of education. The USS Iowa opened to the public for tours on July 7.
