R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Numerous events across our great nation over the past couple of months have put the subject of “prejudice” in the headlines again. Where do our prejudices come from? Chances are we learned them just like our other characteristics. And, if our unjustified biases are learned, then they can be unlearned as well. Whether it be racism or sexism as stated above, we must remind ourselves the military has a zero tolerance policy on this issue. We must have respect for our fellow Airman. From a faith perspective, being prejudice also has no place. God’s love transcends any socio-economic, ethnic, racial, gender or even religious name connected to us; that, we simply must not forget.
