The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents March 30 through April 4:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for one moving violation.

Traffic-related incidents

  • March 30: Security forces responded to a report of a major vehicle accident off Glendale Avenue adjacent to base housing. One individual was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
  • April 4: Security forces responded to a report of a major vehicle accident at the intersection of Super Sabre Street and 142nd Avenue. One patient was transported to West Valley Hospital.
  • April 4: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident near Bldg. 1541. There were no injuries.
  • April 4: Security forces responded with Glendale police to a major vehicle accident at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Kachina Gate. There were injuries. Patrols assisted with traffic control.

Emergency responses

  • March 30: Security forces responded with firefighters to a fire suppression system activation in Bldg. 546.
  • April 2: Security forces responded with firefighters to a report of a possible gas leak in Bldg. 1383.

Nonemergency
responses

  • March 30: Security forces responded with Glendale police to a report of a violation of a protection order in housing.
  • March 31: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting in Bldg. 1540 involving a dependent juvenile. Glendale police responded and assumed control.
  • April 2: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at the South Gate. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded and assumed control.
  • April 2: Security forces responded to a report of a wall jumper in the area adjacent to Bldg. 586. Patrols conducted a sweep of the area with negative findings.
  • April 4: Security forces responded to a report of an individual sleeping outside Bldg. 1153. Glendale police responded and escorted the individual off the installation.
  • April 4: Security forces responded to a report of a suspicious individual walking the flightline access road near Bldg. 640. Glendale police responded and assumed control.
  • April 4: Security forces responded with Glendale police to a report of an active-duty member being cited for excessive speed and driving on a suspended license at the intersection of Dysart Road and Olive Avenue.

Tip of the week: 

To avoid vehicle accidents, minimize distractions such as talking or texting on the cell phone, be aware of road conditions, do not encourage aggressive driving, keep a safe following distance and proceed with caution through intersections where most accidents occur.
