“Courage is a quality God has seen fit to dispense with utmost care. The men of Bataan were His chosen favorites.”

~ Edward P. King Jr.

Maj. Gen. Edward King was commander of American forces at the time of surrender just prior to the Bataan Death March. In surviving the ordeal and later looking back at the horrific experiences of his men, he reflected upon the courage that was still demonstrated by a defeated force. Many of us have seen defeat as well but in other contexts. Maybe we feel defeated at work, as a spouse, at school, as parents, financially, maybe even at life itself. Let me encourage you, “don’t give up.” Never, ever, allow yourself to believe that defeat means the end. The “march” you are on now may be long and arduous, but you must believe freedom is around the next bend.

Blessings from Above …
