The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performed Saturday during the open house at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. Here, the lead and opposing solos pass in the mirror formation. The premier air demonstration squadron of the Air Force, the Thunderbirds, were activated in 1953 at Luke AFB. The squadron moved in 1956 to Nellis AFB, Nev.
