Sports Shorts June 1, 2012

Tom Kuyper B-ball camp

Youth, ages 8 to 14, learn fundamental basketball skills from Coach Tom Kuyper during the camp 1 to 4 p.m. June 25 through 29 at the 56th Force Support Squadron Youth Center. The cost is $10 per member due at sign-up no later than June 22. For more information, call (623) 856-7470.

 

Summer bowling

Bowl one free game per person per day during Lucky Summer Break bowling June 1 through Aug. 31 at Thunderbolt Lanes. For more information, call (623) 856-6529.

 

Slide Rock day tour

Located outside of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon is Slide Rock. Take a day tour July 21 for $35 per person. Register by July 13 at outdoor recreation. For more information, call (623) 856-6267.

 

Start Smart

Start Smart, a developmentally appropriate all sports introductory program is for children, ages 3 to 5, working one-on-one with a parent for six consecutive weeks starting June 26. The cost is $20 per child and includes a T-shirt and manual. For more information, call (623) 856-7470. 

 

Rent-a-lane bowling

Rent-a-lane bowling is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $10 for the first hour and $15 for the second for five bowlers per lane. Additional bowlers are $6 each. For more information, call (623) 856-6529.
