The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents May 18 through 23:
Tickets
Security forces issued citations for one moving and two nonmoving violations.
Emergency responses
May 18: Security forces responded to a report of suspicious activity possibly involving C-4 inside a vehicle at billeting. Patrols responded along with a K-9 unit, an explosive ordnance disposal unit and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. The scene was cleared with negative findings.
May 19: Security forces responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in housing. Glendale police responded and arrested one individual for domestic assault.
May 20: Security forces responded to a report of a fire alarm alert at Bldg. 1240. The fire department could not determine the cause of the alarm and terminated the response.
Nonemergency responses
May 18: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at South Gate. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office assumed control.
May 18: Security forces responded to a report of damage to private property at Bldg. 1382.
May 19: Security forces responded to a report of someone’s vehicle tires being slashed at Bldg. 668. Patrols determined that excessive wear and dry rot were the causes for the flat tires.
May 19: Security forces responded to two noise complaints in housing. Patrols briefed an individual on base quiet hours.
May 20: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting involving a retiree at Bldg. 1540. Glendale police assumed control.
May 21: Security forces responded to a report of unlawful entry by wall jumpers at the base perimeter adjacent to Bldg. 586. Three individuals were issued immediate debarment orders. Glendale police assumed control.
May 23: Security forces responded to a report of a gate runner at South Gate. Patrols made contact with the individual at Bldg. 1150. The individual was briefed on proper base policy for entering the installation.
May 23: Security forces responded to a report of a verbal altercation at Bldg. 586. Patrols arrived and found possible drugs. AFOSI assumed control.
May 23: Security forces responded to report of damage to private property at Bldg. 339.
May 23: Security forces responded to a report of gunshots fired in Ocotillo housing. Patrols arrived, made contact with a witness and determined the sound to be a firework.
Alarm activations
Security forces responded to four alarm activations on base.
Tip of the week
Summer is approaching and the weather is starting to get hot. Avoid leaving animals (mammal, bird, reptile or amphibian) unattended and confined in a motor vehicle. In Arizona, this is a Class 1 misdemeanor and reasonable force may be used to open a vehicle to rescue an animal.
