Kentucky

Airmen and volunteers from the 19th Air Support Operations Squadron are restoring a C-47 Skytrain at Fort Campbell. The plane was involved in every major airborne and glider-borne assault in the European Theater of operations, to include operations Dragoon, Market-Garden and Varsity.

 

North Carolina

Col. Jeannie Leavitt became the first female to lead an Air Force fighter wing when she assumed command of the 4th Fighter Wing June 1 at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Instructors from the U.S. Defense Institute for Medical Operations are exchanging ideas and techniques with medical practitioners from the different countries participating in Exercise Shared Resilience 2012 May 28 through today.

 

Korea

Approximately 15 cadets from the Air Force Academy worked side-by-side for two weeks with the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force to learn about the tangible application of their studies at Osan Air Base.
