Col. Douglas Miller, 56th Operations Group commander, will relinquish command to Col. John Hanna at 8 a.m. June 29 in Hangar 913.
56th LRS
Lt. Col. Michael Davis, 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron commander, will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Erin Cluff at 8 a.m. July 6 in Bldg. 291.

Col. Philippe Darcy, 56th Mission Support Group commander, will relinquish command to Col. Nathan Mooney at 8 a.m. July 9 in Hangar 913.
56th AMDS assumption of command
Lt. Col. Daniel Smith will assume command of the 56th Aerospace Medicine Squadron at 8 a.m. July 2 in Club Five Six.
Freedom Fest
The 56th Force Support Squadron will host the 2012 Freedom Fest 6 to 9:30 p.m. July 4 at Fow ler Park. A military identification card or access onto Luke is required to attend. This free event will feature live music, food, face painting, a Splash Zone for children and other concessions. A fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.
Diamondbacks appreciate Luke
The Arizona Diamondbacks are hosting a Luke Air Force Base Appreciation Night July 4 at their home game against the San Diego Padres. All military identification card holders will receive game tickets at 50 percent off. Tickets can be purchased at the gate (with military ID) or ordered in advance by contacting Brian McCaman, Arizona Diamondbacks Group Sales Account Executive, at (602) 462-4204. The game starts at 6:40 p.m. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a 4th of July T-shirt. There will be a fireworks show after the game.
Commissioning process
The United States Air Force Academy and its preparatory school are looking for enlisted Airmen who meet the criteria to enter the commissioning ranks. Active-duty Airmen can apply for one of the 85 slots available through the Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development program. Applicants must be younger than 23 by July 1 for entry into the academy, or younger than 22 by July 1 for entry into the preparatory school, unmarried, U.S. citizen and have no dependents. Interested Airmen must complete the pre-candidate questionnaire online at www.academyadmissions.com, have a letter of endorsement with an AF Form 1786 signed by the squadron commander and Military Personnel Flight, have official high school transcripts and official ACT/SAT scores. Home buying seminar
The Luke Air Force Base Housing Management office and Airman and Family Readiness Center will feature a home buying seminar for military members, retirees, Defense Department civilians and their families. Attendees will learn the benefits and how to obtain a VA loan and the financial aspects of home buying. The class is 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the A&FRC, Bldg. 1113.
